Software to Design your own bedding and a host of other products, similar to the 2 references given http://www.customink.com/lab (Similarly for bedding) http://www.inmod.com/design-your-own-pillow.html To create a single product or a group of coordinating products as a set for e.g. a bed-in-a-bag starting from main product to accessories The user will be given option to select product , then select the available templates, then the material, manufacturing location such as US , India etc, then manufacturing process, for e.g. in case of quilts ( bedding) choose between machine or hand quilting . Basically offer options at each process/stage based on the material availability and workmanship capabilities of the manufacturing location The product will be assembled in sequence starting from major part of the set. In bed-in-a-bag starting from quilt it will have 4 or more accessories. Almost everything is template driven, for example when you choose to build a quilt you select the template options. As you build the quilt the accessories also get built based on product and industry standards. All customization levels/options will have a price component attached with a multiplier of the base model. The master item will be the source derivative of all accessory items, for e.g. as you create a bed cover/quilt the user can view his accessories taking shape (template based again). All the customer/user has to do it click to confirm which ones they finally want to put in the shopping cart. We see up to 10 level of customization that we may end up with. Product groups envisioned are bed room products starting from top of the bed cover to drapes, Table top products such as placemats and table runners with napkins, Wrought iron items. Dinnerware, clothing and bags, bathroom products such as shower curtains, towels etc. All these products must also allow the users to offer his items such as photos/images/drawings etc even fabrics etc to be used in our templates. Once the product is finished by an end user it will stay in customers file for x days and later removed to archives. The project is timed for 4-8 weeks of development More details of project have to be worked out based of software/developer abilities Vs manufacturing capabilities are put on the table and discussed. |
